Turn your kitchen into a chip shop, commonly known as a chippy, or as we say in Ireland a ‘chipper’, but when I say that in Manchester people think I’m telling them to cheer up.
- 2 big potatoes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
First and foremost, pre-heat your oven to 200°c and get a lined baking tray ready for action.
Chop the potatoes length ways, then lie these halves flat side down and chop these downwards into chips. I learned to do this from a Gordon Ramsey video I found on a great website called Google, or something.
Run your perfect chips under a cold tap for a second to dampen and then drop straight onto your baking tray. Sprinkle with the garlic powder and basil and shimmy the chips around a bit so they are covered. Cooking is basically 30% ingredients, 70% shimmying.
Now put them in the oven for 40 minutes, flipping them half way through. They should be nice and crispy and browned when you taken them out.
Eat with many raw vegetables and a large quantity of ketchup while laughing to yourself ‘evil villain’ style.
